An independent investigation conducted by a local law firm has cleared Principal Ty Thompson and several assistants of any wrongdoing related to the February 2018 massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas. In January 2019, the Broward School District hired Cole, Scott, Kissane to review the actions of Thompson, Denise Reed, Winfred Porter and Jeff Morford. The District hired the firm to “review… the principal’s actions or lack of actions.”
A source with knowledge of the investigation tells REDBROWARD the review has “totally exonerated” Thompson, Reed and Porter. The source said Morford will received a reprimand for issues surrounding a threat assessment failure. A formal announcement is due Friday.
All three continue to work at new schools.
EDITOR’S NOTE: An earlier version of the story incorrectly stated Winfred Porter was reprimanded. Only Jeff Morford will receive one. We apologize for the error.
buhahahahahahaha! The Broward board HIRED and PAID for this law firm to reach the conclusions they wanted. Of course NONE of them did anything wrong! Yeah right guys! Can you say BS?

wonder how much taxpayer money was flushed down the Blue Broward toilet by Runcie and listless school board sycophants?

According to the principal & assistant Morford everyone else – several students, a teacher, and mother of a student ALL lied about reporting VERY concerning behavior by Cruz to them. Sure. All of them were lying. I believe them over those who have incentive to lie to protect themselves from liability over those who don’t. An independent investigation of their culpability should have been conducted. And/or civil lawsuits against them filed to get to the truth of what happened. This was tragically preventable.
