Judge Nina Di Pietro Endorsed By Alcee Hastings’ Paid Staffer

Broward County Judge Nina Weatherly Di Pietro trumpeted the endorsement of a staff assistant for Congressman Alcee Hastings on a campaign mailer. Andrew Torres is a staff assistant for Hastings’ local office. In 1989, then Federal Judge Alcee Hastings was impeached by the US House of Representatives for bribery. The US Senate convicted and removed Hastings from the bench. In 1992, Hastings was elected to Congress.

So why would “Republican darling” Judge Nina put anyone tied to uber-Democrat Hastings on her campaign mailer?Torres is not the only Democrat supporting Judge Nina Weatherly Di Pietro. Other Democrats on the Judge Nina mailer include:

State Rep. Bobby DuBose

Henry Rose

Alanna Mersinger

Commissioner Dan Daley

Terry Scott

Judge Nina proudly boasts of the support of her husband’s legal team. David Di Pietro sued Governor Rick Scott over his ouster as chairman of Broward Health. His legal team, Bruce Green, Brian Silber and Jay Spechler, are listed on Judge Nina’s card. Spechler’s wife Mindy Shrago, the CEO of Young At Art, is also listed. David Di Pietro is the chairman on the Young At Art board.

In February, David Di Pietro publicly endorsed Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump. Four years ago, Di Pietro was the Broward chair of the Mitt Romney campaign. So why is Mrs. David Di Pietro touting the support of Democrats? Why are paid Congressional staffers endorsing candidates?

Last week, published reports stated Judge Nina Di Pietro supporters pressured the Broward Republican Party to put her name on the party voter guide.

This week, a Judge Nina volunteer told REDBROWARD that Mrs. David Di Pietro was a Democrat.

Why is Judge Nina trying to fool Broward voters?
