When Ilene Lieberman (D-Meow) met with the Sun-Sentinel editorial folks this afternoon the whole Guma Aguiar issue came up. Lieberman represents Aguiar’s mother. Judge Speiser named Thomas Panza as conservator of Aguiar’s holdings. Panza gave Lieberman $500 big ones on June 14th.
According to a source, the conversation at the sun-Sentinel went like this:
Q: Ilene, did you disclose this to Judge Speiser?
A: No.
Q: Did you disclose this to opposing counsel?
A: No.
Q: Did you disclose this to your client?
A: No.
Q: Why not?
A: It’s all public record.
Q: So, Judge Speiser is supposed to look up your campaign finance reports himself?
A: It’s all public record. Besides, I didn’t know he had contributed to my campaign until I signed the report last Friday.
Q: This check is dated or was deposited on June 14.
A: I’m not responsible for knowing who gives to my campaign until I sign the report.
Don’t worry Ilene with these trivial matters; her 12 cats are worried sick about those mango thieves.

Since Lieberman didn’t disclose this to Judge Speiser, is it your journalistic duty to ask Judge Speiser if he knew and does it make a difference in the case? Follow through. I’d love to see the response, and you would have a legitimate scoop.
Stay tuned.
