Chip LaMarca Opens Committee To Explore Run For US Congress

As first reported on RED BROWARD last week, it seems as though Broward County Commissioner Chip LaMarca is serious about challenging GOP heavyweight Adam Hasner for US Congress. WPLG/ Local 10 broke the news LaMarca filed paperwork to open an exploratory committee. Government Center insiders tell RED BROWARD that intrepid investigative reporter Bob Norman followed LaMarca into the office where he filed.

Broward politicos are not convinced this is a serious bid by LaMarca. One seasoned government operative told us LaMarca is looking to build some name recognition in the new district and maybe even get some campaign funding from special interests.

All this comes just one day after the RNC/NRCC in DC named Adam Hasner a “young gun”. Hasner has the endorsement of Congressman Allen West, Congressman Eric Cantor, Congressman Pete Sessions and now the support of the RNC political machine. Hasner has also received endorsements from State Senator Ellyn Bogdanoff, State Rep George Moraitis and State Rep Bill Hager

LaMarca takes no risk if he decides to run thanks to Charlie Crist throwing out the “resign to run” law. LaMarca does not have to resign his seat on the Broward County Commission.

  1. Good job

What exactly can chip point to as an accomplishment of his while on the commission?
    -dangerous dogs law?

Otherwise he has distinguished himself by:
-Voting to impose equal benefits for gay couples on Broward businesses (a real conservative issue lol)
-getting in fights with other county commissioners
-involving himself in gubernatorial appointments (schjust board anyone)
just trying to advance himself with little concern for the community

…and he’s only been a commissioner for one year!
