We hate polls. They mean next to nothing, but a new Quinnipiac poll shows improving numbers for Florida Governor Rick Scott.

Republicans and Independents support Scott while Democrats dream about Governor Nan Rich (zzzzz).

Scott’s plan for drug testing welfare recipients is also winning over Florida voters (71-29).

Quinnipiac assistant polling director Peter Brown commented on the results:

“During his first six months in office Gov. Scott alienated the news media and did not make the effort to explain his program to the general public, as he has been doing recently.

“Although Scott’s approval ratings remain underwater, voters like him more as a person,

“The governor has improved, not surprisingly, among Republicans, but in addition to solidifying his base, the governor is better off among women, who dislike him a little less.

“Gov. Scott certainly has a long way to go till he can see the breakeven point, but his ratings that dropped to awful are now just bad. It is reasonable to assume that his improvement is an endorsement of his new outreach strategy.”

Last weekend, Quinnipiac surveyed 1007 registered voters via landlines and cell phones so it was very Democrat friendly.
