Broward School Board Chairman Ben Williams is doing spin-control for Ann Murray. When asked about Murray, Mr. Williams told the Sun-Sentinel:
“Mrs. Murray is a professional board member….She has conducted herself the way a board member should conduct herself.”
Um, ok Ben. Way to stand up to intolerance and bigotry. You couldn’t even muster a word or two about “hateful language” or “teaching moments”?
With Mr. Williams reportedly set to retire in 2012, rumors abound that Ruth Roman Lynch, a local political consultant and Broward Democratic Executive Committee Vice Chair, will seek Williams’ seat.
In January, Broward Commissioner Dale Holness appointed Ms. Lynch to the Educational Facilities Authority. Ms. Lynch sits on the Board of MDEI (Minority Development and Empowerment Inc). She is a consultant with CMA Enterprises; CMA websites says Lynch “specializes in Community Outreach, Diversity Facilitation & Training and Business development for the firm.” (www.cma-ent.com/teamrrl.htm).
When reached for comment on the Ann Murray matter, Ruth Roman Lynch told RED BROWARD:
“No Comment. Absolutely no comment.”
