BENDEKOVIC HIRES MIAMI DEMOCRAT POLITICO TO HELP CAMPAIGN

The latest financial reports in the Plantation Mayoral race shows Diane Bendekovic paid Katie Edwards $1000 for “campaign work” on February 4, 2011. One week later, Edwards got another $1000 from Bendekovic. Who is Katie Edwards?

What does Katie Edwards know about Plantation?

Ms. Edwards, 29, recently ran for Florida House seat 119 in Homestead. She is the executive director of the Dade County Farm Bureau.

Edwards, the 29-year-old daughter of cattle ranchers, has run as a moderate, talking up her bipartisan support from business groups and her government knowledge from her time at the farm bureau, where she lobbied the state on behalf of growers.” (Miami Herald 10/30/2010).

Bendekovic endorsed the Homestead Democrat. Edwards received endorsements from Nan Rich, Evan Jenne, Sharon Uria, Florida AFL-CIO, Dade Teachers Union and more.

On her campaign website, Edwards talked about taxes:

“When it comes to taxes, here’s what I believe: ‘As low as they can be, as high as they have to be — and not one cent more.’ ”

Sadly, Homestead Democrats and Davie power brokers may have a say in how “high” taxes “have to be” in Plantation.

Couldn’t Bendekovic pay Plantation residents for campaign work?

Funny, your post doesn’t say that Edwards attended St. Gregory and St. Thomas Aquinas and has experience in Plantation. She’s the daughter of former Councilman Bruce Edwards. Rumor is that she lives in Plantation now!

According to Ms Edwards campaign page on Facebook, she is indeed a graduate of both schools. She got her BS from Clemson University as well. This isn’t about Ms. Edwards’ education or family ties. It is just more proof of the BIG DEMOCRAT MACHINERY working hard for Ms. Bendekovic. They want control of Plantation, badly.

Your post asks what she knows about Plantation. Apparently she knows more than the author of the post.

Perhaps. Or maybe you just made my point. Sometimes it’s better to let someone else connect the dots. You see, I know a little more than I let on. Thanks for reading. one more thing, you said, “Your post asks what she knows about Plantation.” It does? Where?

Oh My! Well, I vowed never to post on these political sites, however, I was forwarded this today and just couldn’t resist! What does Katie know about Plantation? LOL! I would venture to say more than most – and that includes candidates that are currnetly running for office in Plantation! Katie was born and raised in this wonderful city of Plantation and yes she indeeds resides here once again! But most importantly, Katie has always called Plantation home! All of our children were taught from a very young age the importance of getting involved, volunteerism and giving back to your community! You can’t just talk about it you have to being willing to do something about it! Yes, she and her brother (Bob, who is a City of Plantation SWAT Police officer) and sisters all attended St. Gregory the Great Catholic School and St. Thomas Aquinas High School and than went on to Clemson University. If you didn’t already know this Diane Veltri Bendekovic is also a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School, as am I, and STA is known for being one big extremely supportive family! GO RAIDERS! Katie currently attends Law School at FIU! Katie has worked on every political race here in Plantation since she was in 6th grade at St. Gregory’s! The political process attracted her from a very young age! She is a highly educated individual who brings much to the table! She is indeed the type of young person that we want involved in politics and yes one day representing us! I’m sure you understand that as Katie’s extremely proud mother I just had to respond! What does Katie Edwards know about Plantation? I hope I helped connect the dots for you! LOL!

Ms. Edwards, Thanks for your comment. trust me, I don’t edit comments but I will not let this devolve into the comments sections of other sites. Indeed you made the ultimate connection. As previously noted, this post has little to do with with Katie Edwards. I’m sure she would have made a fine representative. Best of luck to her with law school.

Wow! The arrogance is amazing. Siobhan Edwards had the audacity to mention her corrupt police officer son as an esteemed reference to her daughter, while he was being investigated for a crime that could have endangered other SWAT officers.

Calling former Ofc Edwards a corrupt cop is little harsh. He wasnt the only Plantation Police Officer that had a relationship with the local sex-slave master aka pimp/rapist. The relationship was developed because of a martial arts training. Martial Art trainers are not responsible for the behaviors of others out side of the dojo. However, warning a “aquaintance” about his future arrest was poor judgement on his part. All Police Officers (establishly those who know this local pimp) need to remember their committment to the community and the integrity of the Shield. Bobby Edwards screwed up big time but at least he “man up” to his mistake( and disrespect to the oath, community, and the Department). At least 4 and a half years of his public safety career he was a good officer.
