Haridopolos Takes Responsibility for Ethics Case

Mike Haridopolos apologized for mistakes on financial disclosure forms which lead to an invesitgation by the Florida Senate Rules Committee:

While these errors on my forms have been easily corrected, I take this situation very seriously and will embrace whatever is deemed to be the appropriate penalty,” Haridopolos wrote. “I accept responsibility for these errors and apologize to the members of the Florida Senate. I have learned from this process and have gained a greater respect for the need for elected officials to remain diligent in their efforts to be transparent with the public.

The Rules Committee decided to admonish Haridopolos.

In view of the inadvertent nature of these violations, Senator Haridopolos’ admission of error and his subsequent submission of required corrections, the Rules Committee recommends to the Senate that a letter of admonishment from the Rules Chair is an appropriate level of penalty

Too Bad Roy Rogers wasn’t on the committee.

I’m sure this is an honest set or series of mistakes, I mean all politicians make them. But with so many months away from the serious campaigning, can Mike weather the serious onslaught of attacks he is sure to receive from the likes of the shark tank who attacks all candidates with equal rancor when they are found to have clay feet.

Oh Mike, if you cut the Shark Tank a check for $5 G’s, maybe he’ll go easy on ya!

    Tough one Mike.
