Does City Of Plantation Give Out Resident Info to Political Campaigns?

Inquiring minds want to know if the City of Plantation gives out personal information to political campaigns? Sure beats voter vault or the SOE information. It has to be one of those stale rumors. Feel free to ignore it.

I’ll bite…. what kind of information would the City of Plantation have that the campaigns would want?

I can tell you for a fact that the Bendekovic campaign is not using any of the sort for their canvassing. I’ve walked for them. Other people, I can’t speak for.

I’ll bite. Do they? And if so, is it part of the state mandated public request process so they have too? Are they doing something illegal, cause your article implies it? And if so, against who? Sounds like a Channel 7 teaser. Lot of hype but no substance.

The fact is that cities have very little of any interest in a campaign except for problems with payments on accounts and code violations. If so, that is probably public record anyhow, and fair game when requested legally.

I don’t think Jerry or Diane have any concern there. Warren, who knows? But I don’t think Warren is a realistic possibility in this race, and will only capture those who want to vote non-incumbent (between 5 and 20%). The turnout will be low, so he is a non-factor.

I don’t see the point of this blog entry.

the point is, contrary to the law, has the incumbents been given an illegal “donation” due to the position they hold. Candidates pay the SOE for the information and if it has been obtained due to their being a current elected official it would be an illegal campaign donation. Not that the current administration cares about legal or illegal. As to my capturing between 5- 20%, well when I did the math last year, before I announced, I realized I need only one vote more than either of my two opponents. I figured I had 20 – 25% anti-incumbent going in, a low voter turn out favors me, and if the SOE screwed up (which it did) and a sizable number of absentee ballots are ruled invalid due to federal election law, than I win. I’m a numbers cruncher and both of opponents failed to notice that they are counting on illegal absentee ballots. Stay tuned.
