UPDATE: Reporter has been identified as National Journal/CBS News reporter Lindsey Boerma. The gentleman who identified himself as an “independent journalist has been identified as Coral Springs police Sgt. William Reid. The Cain campaign has apologized to Ms. Boerma.

Following a successful Herman Cain event in Coral Springs, a Washington Post reporter was “body checked” into the Herman Cain bus. The embed reporter was pushed by a man who identified himself as an “Independent Journalist.”

Later, when questioned by police, the gentleman identified himself as a police officer. The Washington Post reporter continued to give her statement to police, while the man was allowed to leave the scene.
