Richard Corcoran, the Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives, was in Broward Monday evening speaking to the Southwest Broward Republican Organization. Since Corcoran's mother and father were World War II veterans, REDBROWARD asked the Speaker how he felt about the neo-Nazi protests in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Corcoran called the events "evil" and said we must not be afraid to combat all forms of racism, bigotry and hatred. Corcoran stated this Legislature was the first one to apologize to The Groveland Four, who were the victims of racism in 1948.
