Karen Harrington Throws Former Broward GOP Chairmen Under The Bus

Karen Harrington dropped out of the Broward GOP chair race in a scorched earth email that threw former Broward Republican leaders under the bus. Former Chairman Shane Strum vehemently denies supporting Harrington.

Here is the email:

“When I was recruited to run for chair of the Broward Republican Party, there was a necessity and desire to change the leadership of our local party. Along with former BREC Chairmen Chip La Marca, Ed Pozzuoli, Kevin Tynan and Shane Strum it was agreed that the leadership of Richard DeNapoli lacked the vision and competence to recover from this years devastating election cycle.

We embarked on this journey to achieve two goals. The first was to bring new leadership to the BREC. The second was to remove Richard DeNapoli from his position as BREC Chairman.

But with the announcement that Mr. DeNapoli decided not to seek reelection, there was less of a need for me, and the fine individuals who were running on my slate to become officers of BREC. We have collectively decided that there is no need to divide the party further by having an election Monday evening, wherein we believe the result will be like the last BREC election – decided by a few votes – which left the party divided for the last two years.

In having achieved our goals to bring new leadership to BREC and removing Richard DeNapoli from his position, I and the candidates that were running on my slate of officers, have decided in the interests of party unity not to seek nomination as an officer of BREC. We wish each of the incoming officers of BREC the best of luck and promise our collective support as our party moves forward to unify and grow.

Sincerely,

Karen Harrington”

I hope that Karen keeps running against DWS. She’s the real “empty chair” that Clint could talk with.

Harrington was about to be crushed by DeNapoli’s crew…and she would have been a three time loser. For her to go out like this though just made it even worse for her. What a liar and a tool she is.

DeNapoli’s “out of the area career opportunity” to evaporate in 3…2….1

Surprise! It never existed. It seems he saw the writing on the wall and came up with this “opportunity” to back out and save face.

What a liar and a tool HE is.

Lanny, if you were actually there, Richard talked about becoming a partner in a law firm in Tampa. Sorry you are such a hater, but the videos of the meeting that have been published (youtube.com/browardgop) as well as the feelings of those in attendance prove that he was and still is a beloved Chairman. Since you aren’t even a member, you’re probably one of the Harrington hacks…people who only know how to attack and spew hatred.
You are the liar and the tool.

Harrington says “We embarked on this journey to achieve two goals. The first was to bring new leadership to the BREC. The second was to remove Richard DeNapoli from his position as BREC Chairman. …. But with the announcement that Mr. DeNapoli decided not to seek reelection, there was less of a need for me, and the fine individuals who were running on my slate to become officers of BREC.”
So…let me get this straight. Richard said he wasn’t running on 11/19 BEFORE Harrington announced she was running, which happened about two hours later. Petrocelli announced later that same day.
Harrington then sent letters out to BREC members announcing her slate that were received on 11/30.
So, 11 days later she sends a letter out ANNOUNCING her slate.
On December 1, as reported by Red Broward, members received a letter from Petrocelli naming 250 endorsements – about 65% of the membership.
Harrington then drops out the day of the election on 12/3.

Clearly a case of BS on Harrington’s part. She knew Petrocelli was going to cream her in the election, and didn’t want to stomach yet another devastating more than 60-40 loss. She was classless to the very end and lying about everything. If indeed the “announcement that DeNapoli was not seeking reelection created less of a need for her or her slate,” why would she announce her slate 11 days later?
