Ozzie DeFaria was already on Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Out of Touch) radar. Now, the RNC and Congressional Republicans have noticed the DeFaria campaign. Reports say the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) will recognize DeFaria as a Republican “Young Gun”.
As a “young gun”, DeFaria will have access to increased support from the RNC and national GOP sources. This program was created by Reps. Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Eric Cantor (R-VA) and headed up by Rep Pete Sessions (R-TX).
DeFaria, a Weston businessman, has raised more than $200,000 in his bid to win the CD-20 seat currently held by DWS.
The Sun-Sentinel posted this comment from Rep. Pete Sessions:
“’We are looking forward to working with Ozzie deFaria, who has already proven himself by meeting rigorous benchmarks in the ‘Young Guns’ program that will position his campaign for victory,’ U.S. Rep. Pete Sessions, R-Texas, chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee said in a statement.
‘Ozzie deFaria’s dedication and experience enables him to advocate effectively for pro-growth policies and fight the failed status quo in Washington. This will stand in stark contrast to the Obama-Pelosi-Wasserman Schultz record of spending, borrowing and taxing that Florida families and small businesses know has failed,'”

People, let’s not get confused, he has supposedly raised that kind of money, but in reality based on data reported on http://fec.gov/disclosurehs/HSCandDetail.do he actually “contributed” $61k to his own campaign and also “loaned” $100k to the campaign… So yes, he has total receipts of over $200k but more than 75% of it was not “raised”, so young gun… Not so sure about that!

Be as it may Ozzie DeFaria is running a pretty good campaign. It is a learning process for him and he is well on the way on that. Other then myself he is the best candidate running for district 20 congress. While he is out there learning the ropes, i have been out there in the community talking and connecting with the voters in the district. In fact today I had met with several veterans that happen to be homeless and helped them by getting them to the shelter in Hollywood. I also had a minnie town hall with about 50 people on a norht bound bus. They are now in the Goldner camp. The other candidates continue to follow the same old way of campaigning

To ? says, her Campaign Manager tried to get Young Gun to recognize her. It did not happen. As to Joe Golder, how is ithat you did not announce your townhall event?. I would have liked to be there. Please posts your townhall meetings. I am sure there are plenty of people that would like to hear you speak.

What is unique about my campaign is that we just go into areas , walk through , talk to people , many start gathering and start asking questions and then what was a simple walk trhough became a town hall situation. This is almost like a town square gathering like the old days. The people like that and has turned a lot of people to my camp. It is about the people and the people like that. It is about actually talking to and listening to ordinary people and they love that. It is something that has been missing for years. That is what makes me and my campaign so unique.
